The Science Behind Graphic CommunicationAnalytical Thinking + Artistic Interpretation = True CreativityGraphic Design is not just a creative expression but also a powerful communication tool for business. Good graphic designers help clients communicate on a subconscious and conscious level so the target market receives the strongest intended message. In order to communicate a consistent message through your graphic communication you need a rational behind the colours, shapes and fonts used. Most business people now understand, colour has a powerful influence on us as humans - so do other design elements such as fonts and shapes. A high quality graphic design service will utilise these principles and target design more accurately than other design studios. Many graphic design firms run on instinct and intuition alone, while this may hit the mark at times, in my opinion a more targeting, results oriented methodology should be in place. When selecting a graphic design firm, there are a few questions you should ask. Do they do both print-based design and web design? Do they manage the printing? Do they handle all of the web programming themselves? etc, etc. More importantly you should find out everything you can about their philosophy and how they work. How well does the way they work fit with your business agenda? It's also advisable, particular for SME's to go with a one-stop-shop. It will make the process as effective and as easy as possible from your end. Find a graphic design service that is quick and easy to deal with and provide high quality. As the relationship grows with your graphic designer, they will learn more and more about the strategic direction your business is going and be in a better place to produce more effective marketing and branding material. Where once you may have had to spend half an hour explaining a new brief, you may be able to do it is two sentences with a graphic designer you have a strong relationship with. They will understand your strategic direction, be able to artistically interpret your briefs and produce something that is truly creative and effective. Â Enjoyed this article?
